Day 6: A Walk With a Friend

Today was one of those days.  Those days when it takes half an hour for your child to find clothes, another half hour to get dressed, and an hour to eat a meal. When you want to go out but they’re running around the playroom giggling and not listening to you (and have changed into a Princess Ariel costume so the whole getting dressed thing needs to be restarted anyway).

So by the time it was mid afternoon, and not much had been accomplished, I pulled the plug on going for a walk with the girls.  They received enough exercise anyway from laps around the kitchen and a soccer game in the living room. I was exhausted already but knew I needed to get out of the house for a bit of a breather, so I texted a friend to see if she was available for a walk and chat later on in the evening.

We got out at dusk and had a nice walk before dark and a catch-up chat about the last few weeks. It’s astounding how fast time days blend into weeks when you have a young family and you put in some long hours!
