Day 14: Feeding the Ducks

The morning and early afternoon of Day 14 was filled with elaborate stories of make believe as the girls ran from room to room putting together costumes and gathering props. When they’re playing so well together I definitely don’t want to interrupt.

I waited till they came down for a snack and asked them if they wanted to get out of the house for a bit.  It was sunny, a bit windy, but they were excited to get out. We didn’t go far, but we did go to one of our favorite nature locations that we frequent often, Beaumaris Lake.

It’s a beautiful man made lake with lots of birds and things to explore.  We brought a bag of birdseed to feed the ducks (try to stay away from bread as it has little nutritional value, other good ideas include chopped up veggie peelings and scraps, shredded lettuce or greens, or rice, oats, or other grains). We found a small group that was close to the rocks and they were eager to come over for a snack.
