Day 19: Election Day!

Day 19 was Election Day in Canada!  In the middle of our busy Monday, between my trip to the office and Chloe’s piano lesson, we took time to walk down the street to our polling station to vote.  Leading up to this election and throughout the day we have had a chance to discuss political parties, their platforms and why we vote for who we do.  We also had a provincial election earlier this year, so it has been a great time to teach about Canadian politics.

Some polling stations had lineups as record numbers of people came out to vote for change. As I watch the results tonight, I am happy to say a new government has formed and we have a new Prime Minister!
